What is the right time to take this ?

    • Smoothie Gains says:

2000 calories is a lot. I would drink it after a workout or at a time when I knew I was not going to be eating anything else for a while.

      • Benzo says:

I checked the nutrition facts, and it doesn’t seem to add up to 2000, more like 1200 kcal. Given, that’s still a lot and probably enough, but what should I add to get mroe calories without it being disgusting?

        • Brian says:

Mate your tripping or canny count

        • Gareth says:

Nah Benzo this is very much so 1500-2000 calorie range, you must be tripping if you think its 1200 Kcal

        • Suzanne says:

Are you sure you are counting everything? If u r using whole milk & ingredients exactly right, it should be close. Check ur protein canister; some vary, but still… It is very close. Mine was off by maybe 20 calories. I made it 4 my hubby as he has lost weight, & he called it “the Elvis” as Presley loved pb & banana sandwhiches. U can add a little extra any of those ingredients & put on more weight. Hope this helped. Don’t use skim or low fat anything.

What if I don’t have olive oil on hand? (I know its a kitchen crime for me to not have it on hand lol)

  6. John says:

Can you add as much ice as you want?

    • Smoothie Gains says:

Sure, ice is just water, which doesn’t have any calories, so it wont affect the nutrition of the smoothie at all.

  7. Toyin says:

Please can I drink it in the night?

  8. Shin says:

Is there anything I can swipe ice cream with because of the amount of sugar that’s in it.

  10. Toyin says:

Thanks so much, the smoothie is really working for me,just started last week and have been seeing the different especially my booty with the little help of squat….but my fear now is my tommy,it’s coming out,is there anything I can do to the tommy to keep it flat or am I not doing the smoothie right?

    • Smoothie Gains says:

You will get a bit of a tummy when gaining weight. Generally what you will want to do is bulk, where you gain a bit more weight than needed and then cut where you cut the weight but continue to work out so that your muscle stays but the fat leaves.

The other option is to lower your calories and do a slower lean-bulk.

  11. Bolala says:

Hi, when u say a cup of ice cream and milk how much do you mean?

  12. Mart En says:

Can I add another tbsp of Olive Oil instead of Oats? They’re kinda disgusting for me.

  13. Alex says:

Hey, I’m allergic to dairy (so no ice-cream), any suggestions as to what I could substitute the cream with? Thanks, great recipe btw!

  14. TOYIN says:

Thanks so much,am really adding weight,my booty and hips are really growing fast with the help of squat, hips extension, lunges and bridges, but my question is that can I stop the smoothie once I reach my target?

    • Suzanne says:

There are many smoothie recipes that are lower in calories and fat on this site and others.try them once you are at your ideal weight. Also, everyone can substitute anything they want to; just look up the calories in ur substitutions and adjust accordingly. They put these particular ingredients together because they taste good together, but if u can’t eat dairy, use nondairy milk if you don’t like bananas use avocados. If u don’t want sugar, use yogurt, but read label as calorie counts vary. You can add extra ingredients as well. I’m gonna add a touch of cocoa powder soon. It’s your body-experiment!

  19. Carlos says:

Is there a food substitute to the powder (that you can buy in the grocery store)?

  20. Jake says:

I believe it should be 2 cups of icecream according to the chart? 1/2 cup has 2 grams of protein so 2 cups for total of 8 grams.

  21. Michael Clark says:

Is it safe to drink more than one time per day?

  22. Meno says:

This is for one person right?

    • Jacob says:

The recipe makes quite a bit of smoothie! I cut the recipe in half the first time I made it, because it was clearly not going to fit in my small 24oz blender – I was able to add a little more milk and peanut butter at the end. The ingredients add up to around 40oz by my count… But yes, it’s meant for one person

  23. Aaron says:

Everyone asking questions regarding the ingredients list, there’s no set ingredient, the flavors just work well with eachother, if you wanna change it up a bit then you can.

  24. Skinny Moustiiz says:

I suffer from low weight, since i was a kid, and i’ve tried almost everything i read on internet, (diets, recipes, meds…) but none worked. Now i am only 49kg (age 25), do you think this shake could really help me ??!

    • Anonymous says:

You should do workout, only food alone is not going to make you gain weight

    • bigdude says:

If you actually “tried” everything, then you would be getting bigger. Calories in >> Calories out, that is all you need to do. Of course this shake, if consumed regularly, will eventually make you one fat mofo. Lift hard on days you drink this, and you will get huge.

    • Smoothie Gains says:

Basic weight gain is easy. As bigdude stated, count your calories. If you consume more than you burn, you will gain weight.

    • Suzanne says:

It takes 3500 calories extra (to what ur body is utilizing) to make a pound. This is a fact. In order to gain one pound a week, u must consumed 3500 calories in that week IN ADDITION to what u r maintaining your weight at. So if u usually eat JUST for instance, about the same thing every day as you have been doing prior to this & ur weight has remained stable, and u r doing the same activity more or less, u need to add 3500 extra calories per week. U can do this smoothie twice a week(4000 calories) & in theory u would gain 1.25 pounds weekly. If u r more active, u will burn more calories, so eat & drink more. Hope u gain what u want! My hubby is in same boat with you. I’m not. I have to do the opposite.

  25. JWest says:

    • Aaqib says:

      My honest review:
I tried this recipe last night, but substituted the 1 cup ice cream (I was out of ice cream) for 1 cup milk. And substituted 2 tbsp olive oil for 2 tbsp sunflower oil. And used 85g of Precision Engineered Muscle & Size Gainer Chocolate powder.

I managed to get through most of it but had about 350ml remaining. It gave me gas and made me need the sh*t twice this morning but now I am fine.

I lost 0.9kg but that’s probably due to the water weight change because of this new dramatic change in diet yesterday. The taste was quite decent and drinkable. It made me a little nauseous after 4 glasses but if I waited a few mins, it was drinkable again. Taking a few breaks in between, it took me about 2 1/2 hours to down it.

I can’t rate the drink out of 10 just yet as I haven’t tested it for long enough but my judgement of this so far is 7-8/10 stars.

I’ve named it the “Rhino Shake” because of the picture.
