Sweet Banana Strawberry Smoothie Recipe
Bananas and strawberries are probably my favorite fruit combination. They compliment each other in a perfect way. This vegan smoothie recipe is low in calories but great tasting. The makeup is mostly fruit, so it’s high in carbs. This smoothie is great after a long bicycle ride; your body is craving energy and the carbs in this smoothie are broken down and digested quickly.
When I go on long 50+ mile bicycle rides I end up craving sugar. Sometimes all I think about is ice cream, but usually I’ll be a bit more healthy and just dream of a refreshing fruit smoothie. This recipe hits the spot like no other. As soon as I get off the bike I want to replenish my body by drinking one of these.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tsp Agave Nectar
- 1/2 Cup Coconut Water
- 1 Banana
- 1/2 Cup Strawberries
Directions:
Blend and chug. You can always increase the ingredients if you want something more filling. This banana and strawberry smoothie recipe only has 172 calories, so you won’t feel full after drinking it.
You can also use frozen fruit and put the blended smoothie into a thermos. This is ideal if you want to have a healthy snack while on a bike ride. Drinking a chilled smoothie when reaching the top of a monster climb is an amazing feeling.
Twists:
- If you are not vegan, feel free to use honey instead of agave.
- Papaya could be a pleasant addition.
