The Most Basic Smoothie Recipe
The most basic smoothie recipe ever is based off two ingredients: bananas and strawberries. It is a classic combination which results in a delicious taste. If you are new to smoothie making it will be hard to go wrong with a banana and strawberry smoothie recipe.
Ingredients:
-1 cup of strawberries
-2 bananas
-1/2 cup of milk
Directions:
-Wash the strawberries. Tear off or cut off the leafy stems. (These leaves are edible, but they do not add much in terms of flavor and I dislike how the stems rarely fully blend.) -Cut or break the banana into smaller chunks. -Place strawberries, banana chunks and milk into a blender and blend. -Enjoy

- There are countless ways to alter and build upon this simple recipe. Want a thicker smoothie? Add more banana and/or freeze the strawberries.
- Want a less thick smoothie? Increase the amount of strawberries compared to bananas, or add more milk.
- Don’t like milk? Substitute almond milk, orange juice or water. Or, if your blender is good enough to blend without a liquid base, just remove the milk altogether and only use strawberries and bananas.
- Want more calories? Add a spoonful of peanut-butter or almond-butter.
